Creative & Digital

Although not an industry typically associated with rural economies, the East Riding is increasingly emerging as a digital and creative hub, presenting further opportunities to maximise economic contribution.

Digital technology is revolutionising the way people live and how businesses perform, so there is an increase in demand for software, data collection, and analysis in the area. Also, demand for programmers is continually growing too, with clusters of programming specialists found in local areas such as Pocklington, Beverley and Haltemprice. Major news agency employer PA Media Group also calls the East Riding home, as does IT@Spectrum and The One Point.
