Invest East Riding

Highfield House

Highfield House is an events and wedding venue run from an Arts and Crafts house built in the late Victorian period.

The current owners, Andy and Lindsey Lampard, bought the property in 2015 and set about transforming it into a viable and thriving business, bringing it up-to-date and investing in making changes to meet the needs of the events sector.

Having invested a significant amount of money, the venue still needed major works so Andy and Lindsey approached East Riding of Yorkshire Council's business services team to see what help was available to allow them to achieve their objectives.

There's so much that these guys can do for you, if you look into it, and now that we've been successful with one grant, we're now looking to undertake a couple of others.

What we did to help

Working with growth hub advisor, Darren Roberts, they scoped out the remaining work needed including new guest accommodation to cater for larger parties and a new commercial kitchen to allow them to prepare food onsite instead of having to bring in outside caterers at additional cost.

Darren helped them understand what they needed to do and the benefits to the business of different scenarios and then supported them with a successful application for a tourism grant in 2019 which has allowed them to make the major changes they had planned.
